Extra Credit! Must be posted before November 6th

Creat Your Own Frame Story
Write your own prologue to a modern frame story. Set your frame story in an airport or a bus station where people are waiting or on a tour or a pilgrimage like the ones described in the Closer Look on page 128. Or you might choose to establish your frame by using people stranded by a storm or waiting for rescue from an accident. You will have to decide who your narrator will be and who the travelers will be and what their professions are. Model your prologue on Chaucer’s, and describe your travelers in such a way that their inner natures are revealed.

Your prologue must be at least two paragraphs and posted here as a commnet in order to recieve 100 Bonus Points

Week 1
We have just taken off from earth. It's almost hard to believe that we won't be seeing it again for almost 6 years. I am however, completely focused on the mission at hand.Cargo has already been flown to Mars and robotically controlled machines have set up our shelter, which we will be living in for 7 months to study the planet. The estimated trip time is 2 1/2 years to get to Mars and another 2 1/2 years for the journey home.
Hard to believe that just 20 years ago, a human trip to the red planet seemed highly unlikely. But do to the advancments in nano-technology all of that is possible now.I am also travelling with a crew of 7 others. Each specialists in their own fields, however all of us we're trained to handle whatever situation gets thrown at us.
As for me, I'm the medical doctor, incase anything goes wrong, which hopefully doesn't.Amongst the other highly educated passangers, there are 2 mechanics, both the best pn earth. While one of them is a very serious person, the other is lively, and very talkative. Also there is a psychologist travelling with us,because the isolation of being in space for so long can have profound psychological effects on the brain. She's a very quiet and solemn person, but I can tell she's always thinking and evaluating every one of our actions. There are also 2 pilots, hopefully they don't get us lost in space! They both look like they know what they're doing though.Last but not least is the geologist/biologist.He's a very accomplished scientist, with knowledge on almost every field of science. He will be assisting us with any questions or problems we might have once we start doing our research on Mars.I have a feeling I'm going to be getting to know these people a whole lot more in-depth, since we have nothing but time on our hands, and nowhere to go.

My friends and I have just arrived on the most beautiful island I have ever seen. It was call Paradise, and its name matched its beauty. This was my dream vacation. At first we were skeptical because the towns people were extremely weird. They kept saying "Ha ha, your here forever." But we didn't know what they meant until one night.

It started to rain, at first it was a slight drizzle. But than it came down, hard! Before we knew it our boat had sunk, and there was no way out. My friends and I waited in our house for 6 days as this rain still came down. We knew we weren't getting out anytime soon. We thought this would be the time of our lives. But it turned on us. Now we knew we were stuck here.

As days flew past we got used to the rain. Pretty soon we were here for a month. This Paradise island had become our home. Next thing we knew it was a year, and we still had forever to go.

The year and a half we were there got easy. Than one day we decided to see if we could find a way out. We called private plane companies, and boats. A boat actually came to save us. They wouldn't wait long though. We had to have our stuff ready to get put on the on the boat.

I've never been so happy to be home. I will never take a trip to an island ever again. I learned from this experience.
